Along the way, we stop at scenic viewpoints for photos and take relaxed breaks by waterfalls or natural springs. If you’d like, we can arrange an optional picnic or packed lunch, so you can enjoy a peaceful break surrounded by nature. Depending on the route and your mood, we may also visit nearby villages before finishing the day with a traditional Madeira poncha.
Please note: the PR1 ridge trail from Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo is currently partially closed due to wildfire damage. We usually combine the open section from Pico do Arieiro to Pedra Rija with the scenic PR1.2 route from Achada do Teixeira to Pico Ruivo to give you the best possible mountain experience.
PR entry tickets are not included in the price, however we will book these for you
